About Rashmi Lamba
Rashmi has over forty years experience in film and television production, film festivals, advertising, social and corporate communications.
She is the India Council Lead for Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media and has helmed pivotal roles at leading International Film Festivals in Mumbai, Toronto and UAE.
As an independent Director, Rashmi started her own production companies in Mumbai, Dubai and Toronto. Commissioned by OMNI Rogers, her acclaimed documentary, ‘Begumpura- The Wives Colony’ is aired across the network.
Latest Projects
This impact docu-feature addresses global issues of gender inequities, toxic masculinity, patriarchal mindsets and stereotyped gender roles through the lens and endeavours of progressive, committed male role models and change-makers.
Film Festivals
Rashmi has worked as Industry Director, Festival Producer and Jury Manager at International Film Festivals in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Toronto.
In India, as Festival Director, Rashmi led the first FICCI FLO Film Festival and FLO Film Forum themed on women empowerment.
At the MAMI Film Festival, Rashmi initiated and managed the Mumbai Film Mart to promote Indian films in non-traditional territories and spearheaded the MIFF HUB at Films Division-Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) to promote documentaries and shorts.

Gender Lens
Rashmi is the India Council Lead of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media (GDI), the only global research-based organization working within the media and entertainment industry to engage, educate and influence the need to dramatically improve gender balance and reduce stereotyping.
I am strongly driven to use Film as a powerful medium to initiate real change through a paradigm shift in gender perceptions among cinema audiences.
